The Journey Home...
For twelve years we have been working our way towards home and now we’ve arrived. Who would have believed that after only 14 months we would be renovating a 7,538 square foot building for a ministry center. Since March we have completed our first successful fundraiser, had over a thousand volunteers in a neighborhood for our spring blitz day, and are standing on God’s promises!
When we step out in faith, God surprises us beyond our wildest dreams. And that’s what this has been, a journey of faith; a journey towards home.
God has answered every need that has been spoken.
Becoming an official 501 (c)(3), non–profit agency was a dream for many years and now is reality. Once we served the community only two Saturdays each year, now we serve 365 days every year. For a time, our hands were tied, our voices silenced and our gift of Bibles, kept secret, a result of using restrictive federal funds. God stirred our souls to make a bold move relying on him to provide for our needs, so that we could reach the broken and struggling more completely. We would not compromise the vision that was born twelve years ago. So now, with God leading, we can shout his name as we swing the hammer, pray with those we serve and share our Jesus through His word.
God has called us to be full time servants in our community. Each day brings more committed volunteers, churches who are willing to sacrifice and business people that share their resources. They are young and old, from various cultural and racial backgrounds and represent every corner of our community. These are the people who claim Jesus Christ as Lord...they are Operation Inasmuch. |
